What We Do
One Mission allocates funding to programs and services that directly benefit children with cancer, their families, and the medical community who compassionately cares for them. Every grant we issue targets a specific initiative that has met our funding criteria and supports our mission. The majority of the programs, services and research initiatives we sponsor rely exclusively on philanthropic support as they are not reimbursable through insurance or eligible for traditional grant funding.
One Mission makes a difference in the lives of children with cancer by:
Acting as the “Voice of the Patient”
Children and families dealing with cancer experience anguish that is all-encompassing and essentially invisible to those outside the hospital corridors. One Mission is the voice for hundreds of people who need additional help, beyond just medical care. By frequently surveying patients and their families and consulting with the staff at our partner hospitals and clinics, One Mission ensures that we are meeting the real-time needs of current patients and families while also investing in longer-term initiatives that will serve future patients.
Providing Vital Support
One Mission allocates funding to vital programs and services that help children and families cope with the many physical, emotional and financial challenges associated with this disease. These include family-centered care initiatives that lift the spirits of patients and their families, help the healing and recovery process, and make life a little easier during treatment and hospitalization. One Mission funds cutting-edge research that is saving the lives of children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer by identifying new and better treatments for this disease. We are a voice for those families that have lost children to cancer and want to spare others the same anguish and heartbreak. Funding Life Changing Care
One Mission funds programs and services at leading pediatric cancer research hospitals and treatment facilities, as well as world-renowned cancer organizations. These hospitals and clinics are changing the way cancer is treated and changing the lives of the patients they serve.
