In 2009, Ashley and Ari Haseotes founded One Mission after their son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia at just 7 months old. Their son’s diagnosis blindsided Ashley and Ari and turned their lives upside down. Nicholas was hospitalized and endured 188 straight days of cancer treatment.
Over the course of his long treatment, Ashley kept detailed notes of the things they wished they could change about living in the small confines of a hospital room. From wishing music therapy sessions were more frequent, to longing for toys and games for their son to play with, to missing the comfort found from interaction with others. Her notes from that time became what One Mission is today – a charity focused on improving the day-to-day life of kids fighting cancer and their families.
